About Henry's

We aim to provide participating children with a caring, stimulating and fun after school experience in a safe and supportive setting. Our qualified staff team lead the children in a wide range of activities, dependent on children's age and interests. We cater to a broad age-range (4 to 11 years) and find that children from across the age spectrum benefit from interacting with children from other year groups. The younger children gain a great deal of confidence from their interactions with the older children whilst the older children enjoy the sense of responsibility that they gain from supporting the youngsters.

The Club is housed in the Partnership room and also has use of the School hall and access to outdoor play space. The inside and outside environments are only accessible through security gates, on the School premises. These gates are locked at all times and only Parents/Carers who are collecting children are permitted access to the Club.

Children are signed into the Club by a Playworker and must be signed out by a Parent/Carer. Key Stage 1 children are collected at 3.15 pm from their classroom. Older children make their own way to the Partnership room straight from class or other after-school activities.

Only authorised Parents/Carers are permitted to collect children unless we are otherwise informed. Please let us know of any changes in person and where possible in writing. The Club will not allow children to walk home unsupervised.

Daily routine

The Club starts at 3.15 pm when the School day ends. Children have a light tea soon after arrival at the Club. We endeavour to provide a healthy, varied menu through the week and the children often get involved in preparing the food which may consist of pasta, sandwiches, wraps or something similar. We strive to meet all medical, cultural and dietary needs as informed by parents/carers.

Children then embark on a choice of planned or free-play activities that may include outdoor games (weather permitting), creative activities such as cooking, painting or model-making, or they can choose to relax by reading or watching a DVD.

Children are offered a further snack of fruit towards the end of the session.

All children must be collected by 6pm.
